Coastal Web Services Update: January 2010

Websites can have a huge impact on the success of a business. The first step to developing any great website is to create a stunning, yet functional design. Considering how quickly new technology can become old technology in today's world, it's crucial to keep your website up-to-date. Ideally, your website should be updated or redesigned approximately every 3 to 5 years so that it doesn't appear outdated.

In order to create a successful web design, we always ask our customers what specific goals they have in mind for their business and what they would like their site to convey. It is important to identify these goals early in the process so that the web design can assist in meeting these expectations. With all of this in mind, Coastal Web Services has launched a brand new website to start the new year!   We wanted our site to be easier to navigate so that all of our services would be visible to our current and potential customers. We have also added new services to help enhance your website and stay ahead of your competition. Be sure to check out our new and improved website if you are interested in an updated design for your site, more efficient add-on features, a website tune-up, or just have some spare time to surf the web!

Customer Spotlight:

BodyBash Boot Camp

John Hannon, the owner of Body Bash Bootcamp, has been teaching outdoor group fitness classes since 1998- well before the word "bootcamp" was ever associated with fitness. In 2007, he established Body Bash Bootcamp in Tampa, Florida which has since become a thriving business. He has gained notoriety within the Tampa region and has been featured in several publications- even on the local news!

In a recent article from the "South Tampasphere," John stated that, "Providing variety, high-energy, and using the outdoor environment to create unique workout experiences are what keep my clients coming back for more." He is certainly right in that respect. John now teaches roughly 40 classes a month, most of which are packed full with eager clients.

Coastal Web Services redesigned John's website, which now includes a slideshow photo gallery, a video detailing his services, an easy-to-us Contact Us page, social networking links, and an Enroll button to acquire business from online visitors.

John Hannon had this to say about his new website after working with Coastal Web Services:

"My website 'vision' was very particular. I knew exactly how I wanted my site to look and feel- from the colors, to the layout of every page; I wasn't looking for an ordinary cookie cutter website template. Coastal's Web Design Team had the patience, skill, creativity, and professionalism to produce exactly what I wanted. "

New Year. New You!

Nutritional Coaching for Lifestyle Change

By Jennifer Parr
Coastal Web's Director of Business Development

Where to Start?!?

I have learned a lot through my own experience in regards to health and creating a balance between my career and personal life. This month I've included some tips and suggestions that I've picked up through self education, community classes, working with naturopaths, nutritionists, immunologists, life and business coaches, many natural healers including acupuncturists, a chiropractor, massage therapists and reiki practitioners. I hope you can find them useful!

Over the next few months (newsletter editions) I will include a variety of health tips to help keep you on track this year. This issues focus is on starting fresh and a few books and modalities that may be beneficial.

There are MANY factors that go into a health program including current diet, habits, health conditions, etc. I personally found major benefits in kick-starting lifestyle and diet changes with a detox. I would recommend seeking assistance from in a local health practitioner, personal trainer, etc. for guidance, knowledge, and support. Also, be sure to check with your doctor before starting a new health regimen. Investing in yourself is always worthwhile!

A commitment to education is very helpful in sticking to a new lifestyle. It enables you to become more committed and passionate about your decision to change your health when you truly understand how good it is for you!

The following books I'd recommend as a good starting point for health education and an effective tracking system.

Skinny Bitch

  • Easy Read. Lighthearted. Quick overview of good health tips/info.
  • The Ultimate Diet Log

  • Good tracking system for measuring and identifying current eating habits and what areas need improvement. Offers tips for tackling one thing at a time in terms of making changes, so it's not so overwhelming!
  • Start the new year off right by focusing on your health. It's the one resolution that will keep giving back not only this year, but for the rest of your life. Be sure to catch next month's article all about natural health remedies and health solutions!
